Estimates, not professional advice

How Much to DIY provides material-quantity estimates and general information. It is not engineering, architectural, building-code, legal or other professional advice. Results depend entirely on the measurements and choices you enter and on the assumptions stated on each page; a wrong measurement gives a wrong result.

Your responsibility

  • Check measurements and results before buying materials or starting work.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for every product you use.
  • Check permits, codes, setbacks, property lines, HOA rules and frost depth with the relevant local authority.
  • Contact 811 (or your local equivalent) before digging.
  • Get qualified professional help for structural, electrical, drainage or other work where safety is at stake.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is”. We work to keep calculations correct and test them, but we don’t guarantee that any estimate is complete, accurate or suitable for your project.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, How Much to DIY is not liable for losses arising from use of the site, including over- or under-purchasing of materials, project delays, or damage.

Saved projects

Projects are stored only in your browser. We can’t recover them if browser data is cleared or a device is lost. Export a backup from My projects if a project matters to you.

Content and links

Text, drawings and code on this site are ours unless stated otherwise. Links to manufacturers and other sites are for reference; we don’t control their content.

Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed; using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
